TERRAIN SCULPT

Sculpt mode (paint terrain with drag)

Pick a brush from the tool bar on the left: Paint raises terrain into cliffs, Path flattens a walking corridor that follows the slope. Ctrl = extrude higher, Shift = dig down, Option-drag or [ and ] = resize brush.

BUILDER

Building mode (click water to place)

Left-click empty water cells to place, or existing buildings to stack. Ctrl+click a building top to change style. Shift+click the existing building cell you want to remove. Middle-drag = orbit. Shift+middle-drag = pan.

Deck mode (wooden deck only — no walls)

Left-click stamps a standalone wooden deck on an empty cell. Shift+click an existing deck cell to remove it. Great for piers, docks, and connector walkways between houses.

Terrain chunk mode (organic rock chunks)

Left-click stamps an organic terrain chunk on an empty cell. Shift+click an existing chunk cell to remove it. Chunks use the cliff terrain texture but do not follow the exact cell outline.

SAND PAINTER

Sand mode (draw beach sand on water)

Left-click and drag to paint sand on the water surface. Hold Shift and drag to erase sand. Use [ / ] to shrink / grow the brush.

TREE PLACER

Tree mode (click anywhere to plant)

Left-click places a tree at the hovered spot. Hold Shift and drag over trees to erase them with the red brush. Trees grow in with the elastic shader and splash the water when planted on it.

BUSH PLACER

Bush mode (drag to paint shrubs)

Left-click and drag to paint a trail of shrubs — the brush follows cliff/sand surfaces and tilts each shrub with the ground normal. Hold Shift while dragging to erase shrubs. Use [ / ] to shrink / grow the brush. Density follows the Patch count slider (fraction per dab). Presets and RGB tints mirror tiny-hamlet's gameDefaults.json.

FLOWER PLACER

Flower mode (drag to paint flowers)

Left-click and drag to paint a meadow — the brush projects each flower onto the cliff / sand / beach mesh and aligns it to the surface normal, so slopes, dunes, and ledges all look natural. Hold Shift while dragging to erase flowers. Use [ / ] to shrink / grow the brush. Variants (Lavender / Garden / Bush / Lowpoly / Flowery Lav) and theme RGB tints mirror tiny-hamlet.

PROP PLACER

Props mode (click to place)

Left-click places GPU-instanced tables, chairs, or small pot planters on sand, terrain, buildings, domes, chimneys, and deck surfaces. Hold Shift to hide the placement ghost and show red delete circles on existing props, then Shift+Click a prop to remove it. The marker only appears on surfaces flat enough to support a prop.

Pick a prop from the picker bar that appears above the mode bar when Props mode is on.

HANDBOOK

Quick reference for all island controls.

Orbit & Camera

Left-drag to orbit. Middle-drag to pan. Scroll to zoom. In placement modes: middle-drag orbits, Shift+middle-drag pans, left-click creates.

Boat

Hover the boat and press E to board. WASD steers. Mouse looks around. Scroll adjusts distance. E near shore disembarks. Esc exits.

Walking

WASD moves on shore. Mouse looks. E near boat to board. Esc to exit.

Terrain Sculpt

Drag to paint. Shift lowers. Ctrl raises. [ / ] resizes brush.

Builder / Deck / Terrain Chunks

Click an empty cell to place. Shift+Click the existing building, deck, or chunk cell you want to remove. Ctrl+Click changes top style for buildings.

Sand

Drag to paint. Shift+Drag erases. [ / ] resizes the brush.

Trees

Click to plant. Shift+Drag erases trees with the red brush.

Bushes & Flowers

Click and drag to paint. Shift+Drag erases. [ / ] resizes brush.

Props

Pick from picker, click to place. Drag to rotate. Hold Shift to hide the placement ghost, then Shift+Click an existing prop to remove it. Esc cancels.

Other

Press H to toggle the performance HUD.
